Singles Boards - Your Chance to Shine
What is a Singles Board?
Singles boards (8 and 9 Ball) are your individual opportunity to advance to the National Championships with APA. Winners at the National Singles Championships are based upon 8 Ball brackets for 2-3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. 9 Ball brackets are 1-3, 4-5, and 6-9.
Winners of a singles board are automatically qualified to play in the next Regional competition with Regional winners advancing to Las Vegas. At the National tournament, players are grouped by their skill levels and ONLY play players in their tier. There are no 3s playing 7s.
Skill level 1, 2 and 3 players! Your odds are 1 in 15 at Regionals of making it and they are 1 in 40 to win at Nationals. YOU HAVE THE BEST OPPORTUNITY OF ANYONE TO BE A NATIONAL CHAMPION!!!
How does a Singles Board work?
A singles board is basically a single elimination tournament with a maximum of 8 players.
Cost to play is $10 per player for each board you play on. When you win the board, you then will be required to pay $40 for the board. This $40 represents the players portion of the cost we send to National Office. We then add $60 ourselves to cover the full cost. ALL boards must be paid for at the time they are won.
Every attempt is made to group players of like skill levels together on a board so the competition is equal with players having a better opportunity to advance and a more enjoyable experience.
